I was searching for a inexpensive way to add a great deal of storage to a network and a colleague sent me this design.  Thanks Robert.  The best part is that they are an open company as I am, so they provide all the details of the design for me to use and hope for a picture of the final unit just for grins.

    Sweet.

    135 Terabytes for $7384
It’s been over a year since Backblaze revealed the designs of our first generation(67 terabyte) storage pod. During that time, we’ve remained focused on our mission to provide an unlimited online backup service for $5 per month. To maintain profitability, we continue to avoid overpriced commercial solutions, and we now build the Backblaze Storage Pod 2.0: a 135-terabyte, 4U server for $7,384. It’s double the storage and twice the performance—at lower cost than the original.

  • Is About.me Worth the Effort?

Is About.me, the directory service worthwhile, compared to LinkedIn for networking?  I set myself up as I like the idea of a Virtual Business Card and I think it is valuable as a tool in that regard.  When it is all finished it looks close to my WiseStamp signature, but I can’t embed it in my blog, just link to it.  And I don’t like the idea that it only presents one view of me, even resumes highlight work experience differently.  So I remain neutral about this, having put it off until I could do it justice.

I set up my about.me splash page and want to share it with you.

Located on the corner of 50th and Hawthorne, in the Elks Parking lot the other day was Fish on Wheels covered here by the Portland Monthly blog.  Fish on Wheels is part of the Flying Fish Company and after reading about it I am wondering why is it I didn’t just go over and talk to the guy and get some great fish.  Some days you just have to wonder what is going on up the stack.
