Can’t disagree with you on that point. I liked it to pique the interest of my students that scripting (and perhaps programming) APIs exists in many places. It matched my goal of also providing them an “external” service given that often it is my router that locks up. I will probably change, but it was a fun peek into Google Docs.

Somehow setting up a cron job in a google doc seems wrong, but I can’t exactly put it into words why. Hope this works out better than a monitor on your phone. Httpmon for me seems to let me know more when I my data connection drops/timesout more than when my server goes down.
